Forget Google, and Yahoo Answers for that matter. I'm sure there'a fine biography of Tolstoy at your local library. That's the only place you're going to get enough reliable facts to write a paper on him.

November 7] 1910), commonly referred to in English as Leo Tolstoy, was a Russian writer – novelist, essayist, dramatist and philosopher – as well as pacifist Christian anarchist and educational reformer. From the University of Virginia:

From PBS:

I got both of those from the Wiki page on the author. Often a good place to start.
