I've been acting now for about 4 years. So far I've done films, television, industrials (for companies), voice over work, commercial print work.

I've just published a book and created a web resource for brand new actors and I'm working on adding to the site, so I have a question for you all.

I'm really interested to know: what is your most pressing question you have about acting or about any aspect of acting?

Thanks!

Tony

Regarding voice overs... truth or myth that celebrities have take a lot of the work? It seems that every character in animation and every commercial and radio voice we hear these days is a name celebrity, not like back in the day where it really was a tride and true voice actor. How hard is it to break into that sector of the business? What do you have to do to stand out? Are there 'loop' holes (Can getting into loop groups be an in?)

Also, so many young people get taken in by so called talent scouts that tell them they're wonderful and can make it in the industry and all they have to do is take these classes for $6000... I know it's a fairly well-known scam, but there's a sucker born every minute! If you haven't already, please have a section that states your opinion on these companies. People with starts in theur eyes are fooled by having gone through an 'audition' process then being told they're one of a select few who are chosen to participate in this program. The person calling them back is actually a hard sell person, not an agent or casting director, or anyone affiliated with the entertainment industry in an ethical manner. It's sickening. I'm on here quite often now ansering questions about the business, auditioning, etc. but also trying to make sure people steer clear of these scams. Anything you can add to educate people hoping to get into the business would be helpful!

What is the best way to prepare for professional voice overs
and how to go about auditioning for the jobs. Do you need
an agent, or can you self promote with tapes of your work.
Also, are there jobs for a more mature voice?
