The key to being popular is being yourself and giving compliments. If you're a pretty girl sometimes the other person feels like you wouldn't want to be their friend so they're afraid to approach you. Make yourself approachable by tossing out compliments every now and then but do not over do it. When you compliment others they will think positive about you and dialog will open up. Never involve yourself in gossip and stand out as the leader by changing the subject whenever gossip or negative conversation comes up. You could also become a tutor or join the cheer team or academic games if your looking to known by everyone in the school. These are all positive things that will put you in the spotlight. You could also smile more often as a frown makes people think your having a bad and they will think you don't want to be bothered. Be the initiator because the other person may want to meet you and don't know how either.

I would imagine it must be getting you down some, however sometimes we can try too hard at aspects of life sometimes, and like all things there are advantages and disadvantages.
Sometimes you just need to let life come to you rather than doing the hampster on a treadmill thing.
Where i currently live there is a very apt saying: what is for you will never pass you. I know it may seem really simplistic, however i think self love, awareness, etc are useful attributes, and we are what we eminate, and of course it might help if you SMILE as you go about your day (that's assuming you have enough teeth), and if that works then just say hi, and it would be preferable to start with women as men can be a little brain dead as regards reading signals. This world is a messed up place. I know it sucks, but I guess "popular" people only care about what kind of clothes you wear and how much you talk, or should I say, you have to be really sociable like. If you want to be one of them then all you need is name brand clothes, nice hair, a make-up face, and a nice/funny /sociable personality. In my opinion, you shouldn't try and change who you really are just to be popular, just be yourself and life should be easier. If you are still in school, don't even worry about it. All that crap ends the day you graduate. That's gotta mean something, right?

You just have to be yourself at then end of the day .I remember back in school when i met a girl called lou and i asked if we could be friends and we still are after 12 years you dont have to be popular just having a group of friends that you can have a good time with and be yourself with that are there when you need them .I dont believe people dont like you sure you can get on with everyone but once you come out of your shell approach people talk to them have a laugh just be yourself you need to love yourself a bit more dont put yourself down confidence is important.

how do u know nobody likes u? Liking doesn't mean that people will come party and hangout with u 24/7 and like play snoo-snoo all the time.
Listen, you need only 1 or 2 good friend and 1 good teacher.... you will be set for life.

Perhaps you need to refine your question and your thinking. Being "not popular" and not being liked by anyone are two completely different things. Secondly, what is the great advantage to being popular? All I ever wanted was a few great friends-- screw what "the masses" thought about me.

Be your own person, don't take any crap off of no one, don't hold back on expressing your feelings, and most of all, make people laugh. Humor is good for the soul.
