Flip-flops used to be known as shower shoes. Beach flip-flops are definitely not sexy, however they are useful on the hot sand.
flip flops and open toes should never be worn if you're going to be in church, at work, or in the presence of ministers or pastors or are making a visit to see the Pope, the President, or being in the presence of anyone in Congress, Senate, etc. or in front of the Queen, because of the rules of etiquette.
In addition high heel shoes show off the calf a lot better than flip-flops....so the answer to your question is "no"..
