I don't care either way. If it helps a team, then they can use it. If it hurts a team, they don't need to use it. Steve Stone and Hawk Herrelson talk about this a lot in the game (yes, I do put up with those two on a regular basis). It hurts a pitcher mentally. When they have the pitch count, it always seems to be a 100-pitch limit. So when they are at 70+ pitches, they are thinking in their head that they are tiring. This may have them throwing worse during this time. Also, if a pitcher is doing good, they should leave him in there. But with the pitch count, it's take him out at 100. On the contrary, a pitch count lowers the risk of a throwing injury and provides the pitcher with more than enough rest before his next start. And if the bullpen is good, maybe 6-7 innings of work is good enough for a win. Just depends on the team.
