im wondering if some companies have their own charities, and for some examples if they do . probably only really big companies (i would guess like apple and microsoft maybe), but im not sure.

Ususally, big companies have people that sit on the board of directors for the United Way.

Rarely does a company have its own charities. To preclude conflicts of interest, they try to separate their activities.

However, some companies, large and small encourage charitable giving by matching the gifts of their employees to qualified organizations.

When there are natural disasters, there are often special programs which generate Corporate sponsorship either with funds or equipment.
