I am a fan of Hideki Matsui above all other Yankees. Matsui seems only concerned with playing baseball the right way, and helping his team win every game. When he broke his wrist and missed 3 months he apologized to his teammates and the fans, because he has so much respect for the game. Matsui does all the basics perfectly, plays a very difficult left field, gets the jump on the ball, and from what I see does not have as "weak" an arm as I have heard some people say. Where is their evidence for a weak arm? Matsui never has issues with the media, even though he probably has more dealings with the media (Japanese and American combined) than any other Yankee. He does not have an "attitude", act cocky, "hotdog" plays, or have any type of scandal. Matsui has had great offensive numbers during his career in the major leagues and although he has had 2 injuries in the past 2 years he had not been on the disabled list or missed a game EVER before this. He has quietly and confidently returned to his normal production and is an asset to The Yankees.

Los Angeles Dodgers, my dad was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, I grew up hearing about them loosing to the Yankees every year, hence my not being a fan of theirs. My favorite players growing up where Fernando Valenzuela, Ron Cey and Pedro Guerrero. In high school I had my dream season, 1988, Kirk Gibson hitting that homerun off Dennis Eckersley and Orel Hershiser's amazing 59 scoreless inning streak, I still have the box scores from the Hartford Courant.

Derek Jeter is my favorite, but honestly he is not playing as good as he should be. maybe because he's not at 100%. I like Jeter not just because he is good looking but he is usually a great clutch hitter and makes some amazing plays on the field. I must say Jorge Posada is on fire right now. I just wish they had some consistant pitching. unfortunatly the guys are getting old and the yankees need some young blood coming up.

Yes! I have followed the Yankees since i was like 5 years old. And its ALWAYS been Derek Jeter. He is an amazing player in the cluth and all of the time. He never seems to get in a slump. Derek is also a GREAT role model and an amazng person. his parents raised him and his sister Sharlee so well and he is such a good person. And like I said Derek is an amazing player and NEVER freaks out in the clutch.

After the Yankees received swept through the Red Sox, I did not believe they deserved the correct to enter an over-hyped sequence with the Mets and weigh down them. But, 2 wins is 2 wins, so we're going to take them. Besides, the sequence wasn't fairly the identical besides, with Beltran, Reyes, and Delgado out of the lineup for the Mets. Regardless, they could were top scoring video games with the nice lineup in baseball (Yankees) in opposition to an ok Mets lineup.

I am a hugh Yankee fan, and so far my favorite current player is Robinson Cano. He reminds me of Mickey Rivers when he played for the Yankees.

Past favorites and will always be my favorites are Don Mattingly and Thurman Munson.

Matusi is the way to go. His level of confidence and dedication to the game is second to none. How many players do you know that would apologize to the team for getting hurt. We haven't' gotten a lick out of Carl Pavano about hurting himself repeatedly and collecting money. Jeter is the team leader, but Matsui is the player that I think rookies should be looking to to learn how to play the game.
