Tell me what in your view is the best entrance in movies. An example then my favorite. In Lady sings the blues Diana Ross is singing and the audience is dark. Suddenly you see money break the spotlight. Then Billy Dee Williams moves his head into the light with a wry smile. I love that! But my favorite is when I was nine years old in a crowded movie house. There are all these stormtroopers dressed in white suits shooting lasers. The screen is huge the sound is deffining. There is craziness and smoke everywhere. Then suddenly this large black metal figure emerges. And the way we look at movie villians is changed forever! That to me is the best entrance. DARTH VADER in Episode 4!

The appearance of King Kong in the original movie. Although somewhat cheesy looking now, that entrance terrified folks back in 1933. Second choice would be the Alien in the movie of the same name. Either when he explodes out of John Hurt's stomach or later, when he kills Harry Dean Stanton and you realize how big he's grown.

How about Orson Welles as Harry Lime in the Third Man? The first 3/4 of the movie is spent talking about all the shades of his character and trying to solve the mystery of his death, then a window opens, and light shines down on the face of Harry Lime, the "dead man". He looks at his friend who has been desperately trying to find out who really "killed" him, gives this bemused smile, then disappears again into the night as a car passes by.. just that quickly, the entire movie is turned on its ear.

Actually, I loved the entrance of Captain Jack Sparrow in the first Pirates movie. I mean, c'mon, can it get any better than pulling into port on the mast of your sinking ship? LOL It was a great entrance!

the best entance was peter o'toole as laurence of arabia. you have a wide angle sense shot over the desert and you see a figure and it takes forever for you to make out it is someone and he slowly comes towards you until you can make him out. the shot was breathtaking. it lasts for what seems like 60 seconds and you can't turn away....
