not this year.
but if they get an o line and develop stanton they could become very good very fast.
imagine a smart, athletic young quarterback having the best recieving core in the league. if jones could come back healthy then he would just be another way to attack.
i see a great team coming
but can they stay together???

I would say New Orleans (with Brees, Bush, Colston, and a good young O-line) or Arizona (Leinart, Fitzgerald, and Boldin) is in better shape to take that distinction, but if Detroit can solidify their QB situation and get consistent RB play, then Detroit will be fun to watch. Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson will be a dominant force ans spread fear to DB's all over the NFL. Mike Martz will have fun directing those two.

as a lions fan, no. The lions will never be good. They couldnt win a playoff game with the best running back (barry sanders), they have won 1 playoff game in 39 years. With the Fords as owners, they just care about selling cars. They dont care that Matt Millen as president is like 29-71.
We have no QB, no offensive line, no running game, our WR's will drop balls and get injured.

If they get a QB in the future who actually has a future than they should be a great Offence the oline is decent and the WRs are going to be too good for anybody to handle. The D will hold them back though just like the Bengals.

No, because no offensive line and even if they do they have a crappy secondary at best after getting rid of dre bly in my opinion I think that minnesota will have a more dynamic offense than the lions.

Nope. Either NO QB. They trade away the talent. The Salary Cap eats away their talent. The Talent wants to LEAVE, and who would blame them. Last and most deadly thing would be they STILL don't get a good RB to put any ground threat in.

The Lions have been screwed up since Barry Sanders left and Matt Millen showed up...It will not change until the Ford family fires Matt Millen...

every question you ask is about the Lions/Calvin Johnson
if you were a true Lions fan, you would know that you shouldn't be optimistic about anything.
you should always assume the worst
Don't assume that Martz will be there for very long....which really hurts the offense
and the fact that the Fords won't fire Matt Millon means that there will be terrible decisions when it comes to the roster for years to come.
Seriously....all of my friends who are Lions fans know better than to imagine them as a winning team........and so should you
