I have heard stories, but I think it is just a myth. Though a near death experience may open your eyes to things and help you understand things, which in a sense could be clairvoyance.

Let me start by mentioning that I'm NOT a doctor, a psychologist, or any sort of expert in the field of paranormal studies. I just know what I see on TV and such.

There have been numerous cases of patients describing clairvoyance, precognition, and other psychic phenomena after awakening from a coma, or after a traumatic injury to the head/skull. Have your experiences been brought on by similar circumstances? Or have your "near-death" episodes been a result of a chronic illness?

In any case, the only person who is ever going to know for sure (whether or not you are truly experiencing psychic episodes) is YOU. Psychic powers are difficult to prove, despite many attempts by legitimate researchers. Part of the problem is that the researchers who conduct the experiments are typically trying to prove something; they're not looking to confirm or deny, they're looking only to confirm. The experiments are therefore "skewed" unfairly (in the eyes of skeptics), and any results they produce is often labeled as "inconclusive".

Another explanation, in your case at least, is that you're subconsciously manifesting a natural fear of death. That is certainly a normal fear for anyone to have, but in your case it's especially so, having had previous "brushes" with death. The feelings, dreams and sensations you are having are as real and "solid" as any reality, because your own mind is making them so.

I like to think I'm neither an avid believer, nor an inflexible skeptic. I do think that a handful of people (out of billions) probably do possess some legitimate form of psychic ability. Those people will unfortunately remain in the minority.

Whatever your situation is, it is clearly troubling to you. This is obviously something that you should discuss with a qualified health-care professional. Getting some thoughts and opinions here on Yahoo Answers may be informative for you, but it won't be very helpful.

I think you should stop nearly killing yourself and see a shrink. Dreams when you're half asleep are altered perceptions based on your partial senses that haven't totally gone into sleep mode. I don't believe a 6th sense or whatever you want to call it exists. There's a rational explanation for everything.

I don't know, let's give it a test. Give me a call. You should know the number.
