First ill start of by saying whats with everyone bashing Sheltons mic skills? Theyre not THAT bad, it must be this huge reputation hes got for stuffing up once or twice.
Look at Batista, Lashley and the Hardyz they have NO mic skills and theyre some of the most popular wrestlers right now.
For example - When WGTT challenged for the Tag Team titles he spoke well. When Shelton was going for the IC, Carltio and Shelton were talking backstage - he was good.
So the question is...
If Shelton Benjamin had 'so called' better mic skills, what would his career be like in the WWE

I think people are suggesting that i favour a wrestler if they have mic skills rather than there ability.
Believe me ability always comes first (for example - id take Ken Shamrock over the Rock anyday of the week), its just that Vince and Steph seem to think mic skills are important to a wrestler being the total package and a main eventer

Shelton is hands down one of the best wrestler's out there in pure talent. He has the high flying moves, innovative skills and a basic wrestling knowledge of holds and counter holds which i love. Shelton use to have great skills on the mic so i don't know what happened. Love the bit when he had his Mama (Comedienne/actress Thea Vidal ) and originally the GREATEST TAG TEAM were first together. It will take a minute i think to get back their charisma to mesh well b/c they were more than good not to toot horns but the GREATEST at that time in a sense. Batista, Lashley and the Hardy's might not be the best at mic skills but u cannot take away their presence, with the former two of sheer power and strengh and the latter with their one of a kind style. Yes, to Ken Shamrock being a wrestler but to knock The Rock sorry if Ken didn't get enough promotion in and out of ring but THE ROCK was one of the best MIC personalities in the WWE and a great all around wrestler. Yes i am a fan of his but u have to be objective..........Don't look at what u hate b/c of someone else not getting what u think they deserve......look at the Wrestler....the skills, the persona he is being at the moment( good r bad), have they progress with the times........etc. etc. SHELTON WILL BE ON TOP AGAIN JUST GIVE IT SOME TIME.....

First of all, yes they are bad. Secondly yes, Batista, Lashley and the Hardy's have horrible mic skills. Now that that's out of the way, Shelton Benjamin is in my mind the best pure athlete and most entertaining person to watch in the WWE. In order to get ahead in this world, you have to kiss ass, plain and simple. If you don't believe me see John Cena. I like the fact that Shelton is not a kiss ass. Shelton's other problem is his loyalty to his friend Charlie Haas. He and Haas are RL best friends, Shelton was the best man at Haas's wedding after all, and it seems he's afraid to move on without him. I don't see his mic skills as holding him back, I think its more or less what I stated and the fact the the WWE won't give him the much deserved push. Look at people like Benoit and Bret Hart. They also had limited to no mic skills, but when the got their push, due to actual ability, they grabbed the ball and ran with it. I think that is what Shelton is going to do. The only question is when will he get that push.

Sheltons mic skills could use a little tweaking, but then I rarely see anyone bring it up, in fact this is the first time Ive seen Sheltons mic skills in question in some time. Batistas mic skills are awful same for Lashley but they are popular because thy fued the heels. Fans are so dumb they cant help but cheer them on. And Hardys Jeff anyway always puts on a good show.
I think if Sheltons mic skills where better hed still be were hes at though, it doesnt seem like WWE wants him going much of anywhere because he played with his PSP..

Shelton does have decent mic skills, but this is called wrestling NOT mic skills. When are people going to start to be a wrestling fan and not who can run their mouth the most fans? I watch wrestling to see wrestling not to hear wrestlers run their mouth and do not care for what they say if they do not have the action to back it up. Shelton is a good wrestler and is getting better. But I want to know why is it alot of mostly younger fans like to talk about this person is good b/c of their mic skills and this person is not b/c he does not have as much mic skills? WRESTLING FAN for wrestling not trash talking!

Good question. But,personally,I DONT GIVE A HOOT ABOUT MIC SKILLS!!I dont see why anyone does!It doesnt matter how good they speak,it's how good they wrestle.
So,you're tellin me that Vince McMahon won't let a guy show his full potential in the WWE if he has no mic skills!!
Im outraged at WWE.No offense Rock Fans,But look how far he went.He couldn't wrestle at all,but since he could pick up a mic,he was famous.Same thing with Stone Cold.I hope Vince gets fired and another GM Takes over and just sign in all talented wrestlers instead of ppl with "Mic Skills"
I had 2 get that off of my chest...

Mic skills do matter.
Shelton is getting better, but there is one point where I didn't even want him on the mic at all!
If he was Rock-like or even Cena-like on the mic, he would be a sure-fire main eventer and title contender.

the hardz don't have bad mic skills, they're okay, how would you talk if you were all tired from an 8 man tag team match, jeff and matt were practically the ones controlling the match. they were all tired and worn out. batista doesn't have bad mic skills either. he talked better than edge surprisingly.

The speculation backstage is shelton is out of favour cos he thinks as he is naturally gifted he doesnt give his all. thats why he is being held back he needs to put more effort in!
