Please tell me what the difference between shop and shoppe is and give a reference to compare the two. Thanks

they both mean small store, although shop can also be used to refer to a department in a large store (for example, auto shop at sears). people generally use shoppe on store signs (for example, Smith's Ice Cream Shoppe)
