What's you opinion on what happened that day and everyday since?

Let's not put words in my mouth. I'm not suggesting anyone forgets about 9/11.

But the contention that some people think others are 'forgetting' 9/11 is my point. Does anyone really believe anyone 'forgot' about 9/11?

Interesting question....

I think that the security is certainly warranted...and should probably be stiffer, if the government wants to ensure safety for its citizens.

But the obsession part is certainly an interesting point. Countries all over the world have experienced these kinds of bombings and terror attacks for years. The attack on 9/11 fell right into line with the American thinking, however - the BIGGEST, the MOST DRAMATIC, the WORST. Never enough superlatives for the good ole US of A.

I watched in horror, along with the rest of the world that day. And for days and weeks after. I didn't delight or find some kind of sick satisfaction in the fact that America was under attack. But the aftermath of the event...still going on today...is what has reversed all the sentiment and sympathy that the world felt for the US that day. Apparently, nothing has really been learned from it - yet it continues to be discussed as though it was the greatest tragedy in the history of mankind.

I was there shortly after the attack and watched the buildings fall. I am not obsessed. But I am resolved. We are not done meting out the punishment on those responsible.

What happened that day? America was attacked. What happened everyday since? Some of us are doing something about it. Some of us are pretending it never happened. Some, like my cousin who lost many friends and associates in the Trade Center that day will never be the same. She simply walked away from her lucrative job and never returned to Manhattan again.

As for those conspiracy theories, I would like to shove my foot....never mind.

Yes I do think people are forgetting about 9-11 and what happened that terrible day. We lost some 3,000 people that day due to terrorist who want america and western civilization destroyed. This is a war of the worst kind, not between countries but of religion. This is like the crusades in reverse. We must learn the lessons from the past and adapt to our present world.

We can NEVER be too obsessed with 9/11!! We should see the pictures every day to remind us that there are those out there who want to destroy us and our way of life. I think we are too soft on the public, trying to "protect" them from the vile images of that day. I say let the people see the victims that had to JUMP from the towers to avoid dying a horrible death by fire... let them SEE the faces of the fallen. Let them see the jet impacts and the towers falling. This is REALITY, and if we bury our heads in the sand it will come back to haunt us again in some other fashion, it is only a matter of time.

9/11 is one of the saddest events in the history of the United States of America.

It happened so recently and is so tragic. We are not obsessed with 9/11. I don’t think we will be. As far as conspiracy theories – I think we have too many people with too much time on their hands. Too bad we can’t gather them and make them build twin towers as a punishment for their ignorance and stupidity.

I wouldn't say obsessed, but entirely way too many people use it as a political platform or a reason to instigate blind patriotism in the public.

It's a tragedy, it will never be forgotten by anyone (period), and I don't need anyone to remind me of it.

People should show a little respect for it by not exploiting it. Probably too late for that though.

It's a scary thing, to be attacked in such a way on US soil. It's had a serious impact on life in the US for me as a NYer and a member of a military family.

loaded question, I said from day one, it just didn't all add up, epically when they "pulled" building 7 which had most of the evidence to most of the fraud on wall street, insider trading Enron and such.

I don't trust NG's with a water gun in Iraq, let alone M16's in a public airport.

Bush used it to get into Iraq, whatever happened to Bin ladden?

these are all clifnote versions of what I really think but it gives a general idea.

Yes, we are. Nothing has radically changed since then except for all of the pointless rhetoric coming from every fringe of the political spectrum.

hell yes, just like they did with Pearl Harbour (everyone forgot about it after the infamous atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki-- guess why-- they all understood what the fuss was all about)
