It is probably due to wrinkles. If she has a turkey neck they could probably fix that with plastic surgery but wrinkles on the neck are there to stay. Of course this in no way takes away from her acting abilities. Some of my favorite actors were wrinkled. RE: Granny Clampett.

Since she's gotten older, her skin is sagging from all those years of drinking and staying out late and smoking and sitting in the sun, and she's developing a horrible, terrible case of turkey skin. Her neck looks like a turkey's neck. The poor thing. How would you like to have a turkey neck? Imagine what people say behind her back! Thus the turtle necks. It's a quick cure for turkey neck.

I love Diane Keaton, she is a terrific actress but I have to agree with the rest of the YA'ers. I think she is hiding wrinkles.

well some people say you can hide your age but your neck will give it away so maybe hers is like 100 years old

Probably her aging neck. She can afford to get a lift I would think.
