as an Englishman who has recently returned from the USA ,i was amazed and upset to find that Americans dont drink alcohol.Yes, they do have bars, but they tend to serve beer- flavoured lemonade, which is very sickly.Furthermore most people who frequent these bars, actually act as though they are drunk on one or two of these lemonades.Weird eh?

As an Englishman, you are certainly aware that the proper spelling of whiskey includes an 'e'.
Many places in America that serve adult beverages have improved their supply sources, though, and include Guinness Stout, a fine brew. You must have missed these places, and frequented roadside troughs that displayed "Coors Light" neon in their window.
I wonder, though, how it is that you neglected to provide your own sustenance, surely knowing in advance the poor state of American beers?

Just where the Hell did you go? In the high desert of Utah? USA is not a drunk country. But we have our great share of Happenin' bars and know our cocktails quite well. Though most known spirits are invented outside of USA, we know how to put cocktails together. The fictional English character James Bond made famous the Martini was in invented here in California USA less than. USA is the birthplace of bartending at a high level. Look into it before befor you post an idiotic comment. You sound like you're in Royalty level as far as DORKS go.

A lot of the bars don't have a liquor licence meaning they can only sell beers. A lot of the beers are 'light' beers with less carbs and they taste weaker. They aren't weaker though. 12 pints of coors light in the afternoon and you're getting set for a good evening!

I'm not sure where you went, but American's are the next step down from Irish when it comes to alcoholics. Frankly, New York is full of drunks almost all day long.... hope that helps, and drink well.

The U.S. is swimming in alcohol, what bars did you visit?
The only restrictions is the age of 21 to drink in a night club. But that's only some States.
If a bartender is caught serving underage kids, they can loose their licence very quickly.Even if that kid looks and dresses older.

I'm a Brit and have spent many happy days in California on the Silverado Trail, in Napa and Sonoma Valleys - some of the finest wine in the world, man.
I have spent a lot of time in the US and look forward to the day when foreigners are once again welcome. As Mista Ricksta so lucidly puts it, at the moment you hate us all and we are staying away in droves.

They certainly do have alcohol and my word can they drink a lot of it. I was at my local pub "The Sweaty Saddle" in Mildenhall when two American servicemen came in and drank almost a whole pint of bitter. They showed almost no ill effect and were still able to say "f**k yeah" and." Wot the f**k"

ummm, they serve more than spiked lemonade in bars. Did you bother to walk through a liquor store while you were here? You might find a lot more than just spiked lemonade.

We do have alcohol in the States, and plenty of it.
We just have a problem serving a**holes like yourself.
Be a bit nicer and more courteous on your next trip to the States, and who knows, you might get served!
