My husband cannot understand why I go on here. He thinks that I shouldn't be interested in "chatting" with anyone. I explain to him that it is not chatting, it is just a place to ask and answer questions. It's fun! He thinks I think he is boring! Not so, I just enjoy yahoo sometimes. We have 4 kids and both work, it is just an outlet.

I don't even go on every day, maybe three or four times a week. I only go on the parenting and pregnancy or religion sections.

Sounds like he may be a little insecure. Does he get online?? Does he have his own outlet??

I'm a stay at home mom and I get online to pass some of my free time as well and get a break from my day to day routine. So does my husband. I just started the Q & A and I showed my husband and now he likes it too. I guess if he had a problem with me getting on here, I'd bring up the fact he loves playing that halo game online and he spends hours doing it. He'd back off then... :}

I have had some friends actually get into fights over this sort of thing and it ruined their marrige. But to me it all comes down to insecurities.

My Fiancee got a little bit jealous... (im guilty of jealousy sometimes too though)
but i told her i was like hey ill make you an account on here too and you can do it too lol...I don't have anything to hide lol
I mean shes in the Military and on active duty an hour away (even though she comes home every night) but I tell her atleast im just answering questions.. im not in chat rooms trying to meet new people, but just asking and answering questions.
I did ease her mine by not making my email and everything available because i don't want her to think anything and I see people on her all the time like she should be able to trust and blah blah blah.. but the fact is i get jealous too... its just an insecurity thing and id rather try to work with her where we are both happy.
people need outlets weither it is talking to someone, writing it down, or answering peoples questions you will prob never talk to again. Id much rather have an outlet in more of this kind of setting then having to talk to other people like co-workers and etc..
Thats prob the reason that the highest percentage of people that cheat do it with a co-workers because they share things and become emotionally attached.. something you wouldn't really see on here unless you are already looking to.
God Bless
Sorry so long

My husband reads some of what I write on here and he finds it amusing that I love going on Yahoo Q&A.

You're right though...it's not "chatting" and it's really quite refreshing, when you know you've helped someone out who needs an outsiders perspective. Also, I appreciate alot of the answers I have received over the months since joining.

thats strange, my husband has never said anything. I am sorry that he is acting this way to you. This is a good way to let go of some tension. Its a great outlet not to have to think about work, dinner, kids or the million other things. Good luck on working it out.

i know exactly what you are talking about.
my boufriend thinks that i'm talking to people all the time.
there are only a select few that have my real e-mail address.. and i am like an old hound dog loyal and faithful to whomever i'm with.
i swear to him that i would never cheat on him. and especially not with someone on the other end of a computer.

it is very frustrating to have to explain why you give out advice..or answer questions.
this used to be my down time.. my time to 'get away' and now i feel like i have to sneek away to type.
not fair.

so i feel for ya hun.
and empathise..
all you can do is maitain your innocence.. and let him be in the room with you so he can monitor it , atleast untill he feels comfortable with it.
good luck

I think you need to tell him to post a question that he wants to know something about and let him see for himself the enjoyment of it all. Its a form of journalism I find. If you like to communicate with masses this is the way to do it. It has a personal yet unpersonal feel to it. It is fun like a game because you get to move up and see how others rate your opinion its alot of fun. Your husband is scared you are going to find Mr Right hiding behind one of the answers. Tell him that thats foolish and let him see for himself the enjoyment of it all.

Tell him to get over it. Do you get jealous over football or whatever it is he is interested in when he could be showing you attention? Your husband is being childish. I have the same problem with mine and when I turn it around on him, he sees exactly what I'm talking about and drops his complaint. Good Luck.

My husband doesn't get jealous. He likes me on Yahoo Answers because it means I am occupied. When I am occupied, he can play Warcraft without getting grief!
