People need to let natural selection take its course.. People like that would've died out already! Our gene pool needs to be chlorinated.

Ok I see three things wrong which perhaps is the clue to your frustration:
1. Insurance (ok.... NEVER call someone dealing with insurance. Hire a hit man....... it's much easier to reason with them this way.)
2. New York (Ok not like I have anything against New York and New Yorkers...... but they hear you are from Florida and all they wanna do is ask if you know their Aunt Fiona and her new third husband who has a case of infantigo.)
3. Wal-Mart (enough said)
Have a zippy day! *smiles*

No problem. I am no longer amazed at the amount of ignorance presented by some people who work in any type of customer service situation. My cousin and I formed a group (really there's only 4 of us) who log all week the ignorance we are faced with and share it during Sunday Brunch. It helps!!!

I hear ya. I used to make I.V's five days a week for 10+ years so I had people's lives in my hands. Whenever I ran into someone that didn't know what they hell they were doing I would tell them a little story; the next time your newborn baby or your grandmother are sick or having surgery and need intravenous fluids you better pray the person making their I.V. is better at their job than you are. It burns my biscuits.

I used to be amazed by the incompetence of people in service industries. Now I just accept it as a part of life.

In my experience, the people who find incompetence everywhere except in themselves are the ones who are actually the worst offenders.

No, I am not amazed anymore. The level of incompetency seems to be on the rise. I just expect anymore.
You can rant anytime!

My sister couldn't hack wal mart and went to work at Applebees.
I guess finishing college hasn't presented itself as an option to her quite yet.

Not amazed, no. When you look at the level of competence in the average public school.
Do you believe the Dumbing Down of America is a myth, my dear? Look at mass media, look at public schools, look at the nearest mall -- the evidence is all around you.
