IT'S...
HELLO, HOW ARE YOU? AND CAN I HELP YOU?
WHEN THEY COME IN
HOW ARE YOU AND DID YOU FIND EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED TODAY?
WHEN THEY ARE AT THE REGISTER.
SMILE ALOT. MAKE SMALL TALK WHILE CHECKING THEM OUT.
AND
THANK YOU, HAVE A NICE DAY.
WHEN THEY LEAVE.

Count the money three times going into the register and three time going out to the customer. The third time handing it back to them, never just plop it into their hand. Take your time at first accuracy at first speed will come after. Never make change for the customer, they are very good at fast changing you. Just pretend you didn't hear them or call a supervisor to help you. Often they (the supervisor) want you to refer that to them anyway. Learn your products, product knowledge is very important for conversation and theft. Always be courteous and smile, ask them to come again. Or what feel comfortable to you, they know when your repeating a rap. Your trying to make friend to come to see you again. And the truth is that they will. You will be nervous for about two week, tops. Then you will be an old pro. You will be surprised at how fast you will know the ropes and be helping the next new person.

Smile and say "HI, how are you?"
Honestly, a little bit of customer service goes a long way.
I absolutely hate if when the cashier doesn't even acknowledge my existence until they tell me what I owe.

Be friendly, sack the groceries with like items, keep cold with cold, cans with cans, and so on. Never sack chemicals with groceries or clothes. Check them out quickly and always tell them to have a great day.

Why do you want to be a good cashier? Just do the worst you can.
