Exactly Paul . It's cowardice . It's the act of closing one's eyes and hoping the bad man goes away . But he won't . People also think they can look the other way and not see the problem. . . but they will . But then it'll be here and too late to do anything about it .
Yes , a call for peace while terror and murder reign is dangerous . Nice thought , but doesn't work in reality .

There is a time and season for everything under the sun. However one must look closely at the circumstances before deciding.
In the case of Iraq, most definitely war is in it's season as far as America is concerned. It will only be cowardace if America yells it but it is always proper for the enemy to call for peace. Then we shall talk.

Well, I'm not going to make judgements about the patriotism or bravery of people who do this.

But I will say, regardless of that, such an action is surely suicidal. And if done by a government, such action is a gross dereliction of duty, if not outright treason.

One only need reflect on the "peace-at-any-cost" actions of Neville Chamberlain, France and other Europeans towards Germany in the 1930's. They claimed "peace with honor", but their betrayal of Czechoslovakia was anything but honorable, and they still got war.

I think we should always be looking for opportunities for peace outside the use of military force. We also need to recognize that peace may not be achievable and war is unavoidable. Those who use the peace chant to undermine our efforts to achieve victory are cowards and traitors. But we owe it to our servicemen and their families to at least try to find alternatives to war.

okay;
so i live on the rez, and i see, feel and experience violence everyday. is it not patriotic of me to bring peace to the family that has been wounded by alcoholism, drugs or despair. or should i go into the home and say, stop your winning and get up and fight!
in my experience of violence PEACE is more challenging stance. to meet violence with violence only= violence.
they say~force regulates violence; passivity breads it. i agree with that statement.
the great warrior is one who can bring peace to the people by using his mind over his sword. to fight blindly and allow young people to die for no reason except politics is cowardly.

Depends.. We're in a war on terror.. If you feel the best way to fight that is to end troops presence in Iraq and commit them somewhere else then fine. If by peace you mean cower in a corner while our enemies close in on us, then yep that's cowardice.

Patriotism is pride in your country, right? So what does our country stand for? I'm sure you'd agree that it stands for freedom, which includes freedom of speech. Therefore, one freely practicing this by criticizing the war is exercising their constitutional right.

Unless you want to silence critics, like countries do that actually harbor terrorists. "Everyone can have their say, except for people I don't agree with" is incredibly unpatriotic.

If it will take actions to stop them, then action is patriotic. The best interest of the country takes, what it takes.

Do you mean peace as in we're not going to fight back? Or do you mean it like we're going to fight until we win, and then there will be peace? I choose the latter. I'm in the Army, and I've been to Iraq. I walk the walk, buddy.
