For a minute i thought you typed "honest" republicans. Please don't forget that this is America and those just don't exist.

freetobefearless has it right! My daughter's brother has served in Afghanistan once and Iraq 3 times and will be going again soon. he said that there are great things happening in Iraq due to the toppling of the regime of Saddam Hussein. And, just like freetobefearless stated above, the American men and women serving in Iraq say that the national media here in the US is awful, in reporting only the gory details of bombings and hearing about the protests and the bashing of politicians. He said it really gets them down.

My father has been to Iraq twice and is leaving again in July...
Don't get me wrong, he hates war, but he is very angry at the Liberal Media, because they only show the bad things that go with this war on terror... Yes people die in war... but at least less innocent people are being killed and we're fighting to stop murderers who hate everyone that isn't them.
He has seen kids put in school.
He has seen homeless recieve food.
Government structure is becoming much more stabalized.
Dictatorship is gone.
Democracy is begining.
They're not letting terrorist walk all over them now(Iraqis).
How can you say this war is nothing, but a poly for the republicans etc.?
Much good is being done... and we are learning how to better fight terrorism... if the rest of the world would pitch in we would see a huge difference.
have a good day! :)

I thought that Col. Westhusing's death was ruled a homicide. I checked out your link but to my consteration, they claimed the letter was posed by "The Smoking Gun" I went to thesmokinggun.com and they never heard of Col. Westhusing nor of any suicide note from Iraq.
What gives?

Well, there is the opposing opinion that people who commit suicide aren't in their right minds in the first place.
What mystifies me is somebody reaching the rank of O-6 and not having run into, countless times, corruption, greed and incompetence, mostly from the Pentagon and always from Congress, but certainly enough could be found in the huge military bureaucracy. I was in for only 5 years, and I was quite aware of it.
Let's face it - he cracked under the strain.

Yes, because nobody else in the history of the world has killed themselves. There were instances of Allied troops committing suicide during both World Wars, does that mean they weren't right?

So, you're basing your criticisms on the ravings of a man who's so mentally distraught that he committed suicide? Very weak argument.

One guy commits suicide and all of a sudden he's the most rightous person in the war. The guy was obviously nuts or he wouldn't have committed suicide.
You're reaching pal.
