What do you think of its cities? People? Attractions? Scenery? Other factors you choose? Would you live here, just visit, or neither?
I live here. It's not the greatest state by any means, it's just okay. I'm in the process of moving to Louisville--the very best area of KY--so that will help a lot. (If I'm to stay in KY permanently, it will be metro Louisville, consisting of Hardin, Bullitt, Oldham, and Jefferson Counties.)

I'd rather live in MS, AL, TX, TN, or OK for friendlier people. However, interestingly enough, I think the Louisville area is the friendliest in the state; it certainly is better than where I am now, metro Lexington.

I'm from Valley Station (now part of Louisville) - and I love every thing about Kentucky. I used to travel all the time for work - been all over - still would never live outside Kentucky. The people are genuine, friendly, and polite, you've got an awesome balance of metro *big* cities and cozy little towns, you can find beautiful scenery where ever you go - without even looking for it, its just there, and there plenty of history and culture. Every county has its attractions, all worth visiting. I think the best thing is there are a million places to lose yourself in serene peace - even if you're in Louisville or Lexington or other metro area, you can find some beautiful and tranquil places where the sound of the birds and creeks take over from the whizz of the expressways and car horns.
Another great thing about metro Louisville, both observed by myself and my colleagues from elsewhere - rush hour is a breeze compared to other metro areas. On most days, you will barely slow down below the speed limit on the Xway, i.e. not a lot of drawn out traffic jams and delays. People who've never been outside Louisville may not feel this way - but I learned to appreciate our roads immensely after being in Memphis, Dallas, and NYC!! Louisville is kinda like a small big city or big small town - so I guess smoother traffic is one of the pros of such an in-between kinda place.....
Anyway...hope you enjoy yourself if ya become a Louisvillian =)

I just left Cincinnati, Ohio two years ago to move where I am now so I know a little about Kentucky (the bluegrass state). Yeah it wasn't my favorite place in the world and the people that I met were not that friendly. Now since I said that I have to say that I haven't met everyone in KY so I can't say that everyone is that way.

I would love to visit a southern state in the US. You seem like very hospitable people, and I hear the food is damn great. I'm always hearing about grits.....I knew a guy online who was from SC, and he was kinda creepy but he definitely had southern charm. He said gumbo was good food. I have a friend who went to see Graceland this week, and I feel jealous. :((

Only visited a friend in Fort Knox and my uncle in Fort Campbell. The drive from Florida is very scenic. That's all I have to say about that.

I seldom think of Kentucky unless it is derby day or I am drinking whiskey (which is about as often as the derby comes around)
