you are under the laws and jurisdiction of the u.s.a. - no matter what.
as to repercussions - you could be charged with a felony and if found guilty find yourself deported.
now bear in mind that would mean your country of origin an not canada.
so is it worth it? probably not.

You have two problems.
One is whatever trouble anyone can get into for giving bad information to the judicial system ... jail, fine, whatever.
Two is that you are an alien in trouble with the law, for whatever reason ... you could get deported as an undesirable alien, and refused readmission ... this record might also be bad for you in Canada ... can you get a good job later on when on your record is that you were kicked out of America for criminal actions?
You need to get with the DA and repair your statements PDQ.

They can charge you with obstructing justice if you are preventing the district attorney from finding out the truth about a crime you or someone you know committed. Tell the truth or go back to your own country!

If you make false statements under oath, then it's perjury. Visitors are subject to US law much in the same way US Visitors are subject to Canadian laws.
Perjury is a felony offense that carries a fine and jail time.

No. We love it when people from other countries come here and commit perjury. Hey, bring the rest of your family. And a case of Moosehead.
