I keep hearing the accusation that Dems won't do anything about illegal immigration because they want more votes at the polls, and the illegals give them that.

What kind of hokey polling systems ARE there in this country? When I go to vote, I have to present my driver's license (with photo) and sign next to my name on a huge printout of all the registered voters in my district.

In order to register to vote in this country, if my memory serves, you have to prove that you are a U.S. citizen.

So I don't really understand the allegation that illegal aliens are voting in our elections, unless the polling places aren't being more careful.

If that's the case, shouldn't we be calling for a major overhaul of our voting process, rather than accusing the Democrats of trying to promote the voting by illegals?

I've lived in the same voting district since I registered to vote in 1985. Every time I go to the polls I am asked for my photo ID, no ID, no vote. So, I do not know how illegals can vote with no ID?

A bill came up before the Texas legislature this past session to require a photo government ID to vote. (provided free by the state) It was blocked by the Dem's who claimed they would loose 7% of their voting block.

The county treasurer in Harris County (Houston) says there are many attempts to register illegally. He had a lot of applications submitted all with the same street address. (Sorry, I don't remember the numbers on this.)

A invoice got here up in the previous the Texas legislature this previous consultation to require a image government identity to vote. (provided unfastened with the aid of the state) It replaced into blocked with the aid of the Dem's who claimed they could unfastened 7% of their balloting block. The county treasurer in Harris County (Houston) says there are a number of tries to sign up illegally. He had a lot of applications submitted all with the comparable highway handle. (Sorry, i do no longer remember the numbers in this.)

We should overhaul the voting process as the 2000 election showed us. The reason there is speculation but no proof to illegals voting is the whole reason they could have easily done it. The pollling places aren't careful at all, it's ridiculous how easy it is to illegally cast a vote.

I think the voting process should be standardized across the board. All states should be required to use one type of ballot (I'm for electronic)
FYI- I never had to show my driver's license at the polls.

I guess you forgot about all the dead Democrats that voted in Chicago last time around. Of course, Chicago is a whole different kind of place.
