With the rapid increase in Globalization, it appears as though we'll be looking at a one world order.

We may as well go ahead and make Iraq a state. Realistically Puerto Rico is the only US territory with enough people to join the union, but a vast majority of Puerto Ricans don't want statehood. DC was created to never become a state. It was a part of Maryland.

Much of the world seems to be 1) dividing into smaller nation states (Czechs and Slovaks, peaceful separatist movements in Quebec and Scotland, and not-so-peaceful movements elsewhere) but 2) joining larger political units such as the European Union.

This trend has not reached the US, though NAFTA is an economic union of sorts. But a century from now, who knows??

Possibly Peurto Rico and the District of Columbia could become states.

I don't think anyone wants us. Think of how nice it would be to have Canada and mexico as part of the U.S. and have a much stronger union.
