If I am understanding your question, you are referring to the
capacity of intellectual manipulation as a means for
reading people and telling people what they want to
hear. Yes, in my opinion, it is dishonest to practice
such a style. Life isn't easy, and it shouldn't sound
easy. It is often convenient for an individual's agenda
to make it appear as if everything is easy. After all,
if everything is easy for an individual that might influence
people to exert effort to make the individual comfortable.
However, what happens when a situation is encountered
which isn't easy, does the individual give honest insight
to the complexity of the scenario. Furthermore, will the
individual even approach the situation, considering they
see it coming, if they think there is a chance it might not
be easy because if they did then that individual might
be observed to require diligence and persistence to
complete tasks which means that something isn't
easy for the individual. I choose to accept advice at
face value. If something is evaluated to be rational
to my logic then I will side with that rational regardless
of the person who is the source of the object under
consideration. People need to use their own discretion
when evaluating the authenticity of subject matter.
The only individual who can be deceived is the individual
who doesn't take the time to consider what is being
regarded for evaluation. Considering that individuals
are primarily subjective in perception and projection,
it should be a progressive goal for each individual to
practice their ability to observe and pass their own
judgement on subject matter. Real or fake, honest or
dishonest, each individual has the potential to discover
meaning from observations and make decisions
on the proper course of action.

They can be as far out in left field as the flagpole without being intentionally dishonest, and so if they are very charming they can be also very misleading. At least the story can begin that way. They will usually never quite see how much they are handcuffed by their addictions or the guilt would kill them. In any event it is good for everyone to know that one must exercise one`s own judgement. We are all learning in this the best century of them all. IMO we are headed for paradise on earth and I don`t mean the one North of Chico, California. Joy to All.

Not really. I think that when you meet someone who's dishonest, it shows in their actions, whether charming or otherwise. I think its just a little bit more disgusting when the person is charming because it shows that they're working hard to be deceiving.

Quite an insightful question!!
In my experience, real and honest people are mostly rude in behavior and often rough in nature.... the charming guys are mostly slippery on their words with a lot of cunning to maneuver people to their own advantage.

There are people who are naturally charming and mean well; however, if someone is excessively charming and complementary, I tend to think they are a con artist.

Charm is deceptive and often capricious in its intentions. Charisma is attractive, but is no guarantee of a virtuous character.

Real. The charm is a perception for that the people themselves are responsible.

It's always safer to judge people from their actions and not from their words or image. Words lie, but actions bearly ever.

Charm is a verb..not a noun. It is something you do not something you are...so yes, it is fake.
