Yeah totally. It makes you look like a moron. The sad thing is that people think it makes them look cool.

Well, in my line of work, no (telecom - we have offices in over 40 states - and our headquarters is here, so the head guys keep their ear pieces in or they'd have to hold their cell phones to their ears all day). But the housewife walking through Wal-Mart chatting to the air does look pretty stupid. I think it is the bling thing in that case.

Yea can imagine what folks think of people with their blue tooth in their ear, while on the bus or train and even gets worse when they talk away n' annoying the heck out of others with their loud vocals....
Even caught a guy tell another guy sitting next to him, to tone down his vocals while on his blue tooth, one morning on the way to my studies, the other guy w/ blue tooth ignored the request, then that irritated the guy, and 'ear piece guy' got yelled at with 'What part of my English did yo not understand?' , that caught everyone's attention...Whatta morning!
Another time, a guy had a blue tooth in his ear, and I spotted a guy who seemed like a gangsta type stood near and glared at him like he should shut his mouth from babblin to himself, it turns out the guy's on the phone...Gangsta guy grumbled and looked away--he was cute tho...
In college, teachers boom real loud to the students to take that funny piece out of their ears when coming to class or he or she will confiscate it until after class. Woo, tough teacher!!
I rather it was sleek type not the piece that it makes the person look half android...
Again I agree with Beth, as that has happened to me several times----I was so infuriated by the sound of someone behind me and learn the guy or girl is on their cell, yapping! Cheeze~!

Yes, yes, absolutely yes. And I see it's mostly guys, too. Most of the females who I've seen with it are either CEO-wannabes or socialite-wannabes--women who, like men, want to convince the world of their importance. They end up looking stupid by appearing to talk to themselves, quite loudly. I've often snickered at how only their suits or couture clothes distinguish them from the homeless guy ranting and raving to no one on the bus! :-D

I think they do, especially because it looks like they're walking around talking to themselves a lot of the times.

I see women with them. The first one I saw, I thought the person was having a psychotic break as they were TALKING animatedly to themselves, it seemed like. I think if you use one you may as well be having a psychotic break...

Yeah, I agree. I don't mind if they're actually on the phone, but one of my friends has it attached to his ear all day - he looks ridiculous. He made me buy one and I never use it.

I hate it! I hate when a person with one of those things walks behind me and starts talking. I think they are talking to me. Walking around talking on one of those has to be the rudest most pompous thing you can do.
