Can not guess now !

Before television was invented no one could imagine interactive TV !!

But I think even if past is visible by time travel we would not be able to take part in the event like its shown in many science fiction. At the most we will be able to see it like a movie only.

There is a specific reason why time travel will never happen. Even though many amazing advances have been made in our world due to technical advancement, it is impossible for "time travel" to ever take place. The reason for this statement is found in the equations that describe the basis of the creation of our universe. The equations are E = mc2, m = E/c2, and c2 = E/m. The last equation is that for a field of gravity, which is also a field of physical time (a field of acceleration that moves at the speed of light). What we have an interest in at present are the first two equations. Notice that the basis of each of these is the "c2" value. In the first it is the multiplier and in the second the divider - but it is the basis of each equation.

What this value means is that our universe is totally composed of the value of "c^2". It is for this reason that the present moves into becoming that of the past. This value is what physical reality IS before it no longer exists anywhere other than in our memories.

Notice that there is no other value that represents time in these equations, and there is no other expression that describes what reality is composed of other than found in the physics trilogy. There exists only present time and once it passes away, moving at the speed of "c", there exists nothing else in any form that is relatable to time.

If history is constant then we would only be able to travel forward.

Travelling backward to the past must affect history!

However, in a many-worlds type universe where at each moment the universe diverges into a multitude of possibilities then maybe time travel backward or forward would be possible.

We would always be selecting alternative 'universes' to travel to (in the past or future) and so it would be possible to avoid affecting the 'universe' we started from.

On the contrary. You can travel forward in time by traveling near the speed of light away from the earth, and then returning. You could age a day, while the earth aged a million years if you went fast enough. Even if the future was not determined when you left, it would be resolved when you returned in the usual manner - by having happened. Travel to the past is thought impossible precisely because it *has* happened, and returning to the past would allow you to change it. This leads to the famous "grandfather paradox".

Even if the past is constant, it's not an argument against time travel. Let's say someone went back in time and changed something, for example, stopping someone from killing George Washington. Obviously since the past has happened already, anything that any time travelers have done or ever will do in the past has already occured and the result is the present that we live in today. It's pretty safe to say that no one will ever go back in time and kill George Washington, because that never happened.

It time travel were possible and you traveled back in time, when you came back you would be traveling into the future.
When you landed back in time the future would not exist yet.
Time travel will never be accomplished.

Well, suppose that we could only move backwards in time, this would mean that we could never get back to 'now' because 'now' wouldn't have happened yet so we'd always be stuck in the past

You cannot time travel.

it is possible to go backwards and forwards in time! I have done this many times. Yet you must be carefull not to bump into yourself as it can disrupt the spacetime continuim!
