Is the bar association required to disregard any charges / ethics violations if a pardon has been given?

No. The pardon doesn't erase the fact that he lied under oath. And the state bar is its own authority regarding law licenses.

Personally, I hope he is not granted a pardon - if he took the fall for others, they should step up and admit to their errors.

If the President grants him a pardon, it should be because the ones he was covering for finally stood up and told the truth - that they intentionally leaked the CIA identity and status of Valerie Plame to the press because they did not want the investigation to continue.

He did lie under oath - committed perjury. A man of his status and intelligence certainly knows what he was doing. If this is to be pardoned there ought to be a damn good reason for it.

Judge Walton said the following during sentencing:

"Individuals should understand that when you transgress the law, there are consequences," Walton said. When those in high positions "step over the line," he continued, "it causes people to lose faith in our government."
