No America don't deserve respect. America should keep their noses out of other country's business and then maybe they will get respect.
Have you Americans ever gone to another country? America is the most hated country on earth and they do deserve it because of Iraq. After 9/11, many countries felt sympathy for America for the first time ever and were even willing to help. Unfortunately, your leader has turned this around by going into Iraq. Not only America is the most hated country on earth, but bush is probably one of the most hated men in the history of civilization.

You are a misguided and deluded fool.
I do believe America deserves more respect but the current administration has taken that from us.
Our technology does not help others grow their crops, that came from Europe and South America. We benefit from it the same way they do.
Medicinal research used in the Middle East came from Sweden and Cuba.
The administration has not been an honest broker of freedom because they lied to us Americans and set up sham governments and took the people's oil.
Our faces has been spat in because of the greed of big oil and their cohorts.
Stop supporting Bush and his cronies and start changing things for the better.

The United States indeed does help "feed the world" but we hardly do it alone. We are certainly not the only nation that has developed technology enhancing farming. In fact we are buying more and more of our food from other nations.
The US does provide medicines to countries in need. Unfortunately we also allow US medicine that does not meet US standards to be shipped elsewhere. We are also helping with AIDS and other STDS as long as the recipient nation agrees to teach abstanance first. Not very effective.
Honest broker? US companies are making millions (at least) in rebuilding in Iraq alone. And that comes after we started a war under false pretenses. In the meantime we are pushing a form of gonernment on these people that they do not seem to want.

There are many Bigots in America. Why does the Federal Government pay mega farms to not plant crops? What is honest about Blackwater fighting in Iraq? You know them right? They are owned by Haliburton and Cheney gets a check from Haliburton. If you recall we defended the Saudis from Iraq. You know the Saudis, Bush family friends, right? God Bless America and every American service member who has died in Iraq for the Republicans agenda of Oil and Money..

Maybe US need the world. The big questions is whether the world needs US?
As to respect, everyone gets what he deserves.
Yes, we gave away food and medicines - out of the military/natural disaster stocks, close to the expiration date, or even after it. Those should be disposed one way or another, why not donate it?
Yes, our guys are send to fight all over the world - as honest brokers of Tel Aviv and Wall Street.
Little wonder, if any, that with this we got only spits. I am not surprised, why are you?

Yes I agree and Texas does indeed rule. The midwest supplies 95% percent of the world's entire food source and yet these scum sucking liberals, communists and anti-americans both in our country and abroad are never satisfied.
They somehow are under the delusion that they are "Entitled" to free food, healthcase, a mansion and unlimited healthcare.I wish the american scum haters within our borders would leave or be cast out. We didn't ask you to come in the first place.
And if the rest of the world is so damn superior to us, then why are they flocking to our borders like rats to come in and get our food, healthcare and way of life is their country is so much more preferable to ours??
God Bless our great country and Peace Through Patriotism!

I mostly agree. This planet wouldn't be the same if the USA didn't exist. Things would have changed long before 9-11. WW2 would have changed everything we know today. Thanks to the help of the USA during WW2 we are free. I have only known freedom in my lifetime. In part because of the USA not despite the USA. So as a Canadian I will say thank you USA for your past and current efforts in helping us remain free.

Yeah, freedom.
Hundreds of Iraqis are slaughtered by their own countrymen every day because we tore down the only barrier protecting that country from sectarian violence in the first place. Now, as innocent men and women die in the streets of Baghdad we fight over here to bring soldiers home and screw the people of that country over.
Second, Do we even grow their crops? Most of ours come from other nations and I assume we just give money to aid organizations to buy crops.

You have to realize the rest of the world does not think like most americans. Only force and might is respected. To give and be nice is regarded as a sign of weakness. Look back to when Iran held american hostages and we talked, talked, talked. A similar thing happened to some russians; the reaction was paratroopers, bombers overhead and the fuses lit on nuclear missles. Nobody has touched a russian citizen since. If we could only overcome this need to be loved and wanting to talk, talk talk.
