how do you think the world would be changed if the answer to the simple mathematic problem 1+3 suddenly with no explination changed to 7?

yes the numbers keep their same values.

People would change and so would their man-made environment, but the trees would still grow and the animals would still be the same. Maths is man-made

that's quite impossible. As long as the numbers 1 and 3 are associated with their currently known values, there is no way, let me repeat that, no way they can add up to make more or less than 4. It is part of the beauty of our universe and one of the truths we know of. The Sun may one day not rise in the east, it may not rise at all, but 1 plus 3 will always be 4.

If 7 became the new 3, then no change at all. But is the value of 7 remained unchanged then I would assume that madness had crept into our consciousness as Physics and math are universal constants.

Perhaps then people would concentrate more on their
communicative spelling, rather than trying to remember
the importance of math.
For you are assuming the importance of math-all math-and
this is uncritical; Now,after Godel's pioneering incompletness
work, we need not say that all higher maths is incomplete,
but that certain BRANCHES of math are incomplete for our
needs and thus are nor required.
It must be disconcerting for
some to hear this,as it has been traditionally taught that all
math has its rightful and useful place in our logical darwinian
world.
So,within this world there are maths fields/branches
which are incompatible(some being historically developed
more than others)- similar to the wave or particle-theories-
of-light in physics.
Sure, we can integrate these to an extent
but we have to choose one or another FIRST; take it so far,
then take stock.
Incompatibility,its inevitable for the higher
areas,including mathematical arithmetic.
i dont think the world would be changed much if the simple
laws of arithmetic were reinvented differently;people would likely accept that it was a (re) invention too far,too unlikely
and too unrealistic/unworkable.

Birds would swim, fish would fly, fire trucks would chase dogs, and mice would chase cats! It would be total pandemonium!

But I wouldn't mind as long as it worked out to a raise in my paycheck.

I don't mind.

Oh - that's if 6 turned out to be 9...
