Here's my theory on Snape and his involvement in Dumbledore's death, in case anyone is interested:

I think that Snape is a good guy. Dumbledore is really dead. Snape was ordered by Dumbledore to kill him so Harry could continue on his own, because that is his destiny. Some argue that he was begging Snape not to kill him, but I beleive that he was begging Snape TO kill him. Snape was angry because this was the LAST thing he wanted to do, to kill someone he loved. But he had to do it. Then he fled, because no one could know of their scheme. He will come back and help Harry find the Horcruxes, as will Draco Malfoy, because now, as he has failed Lord Voldemort, he is in just as much danger of getting killed as Harry is.

As far as how it will all end, it's really a mystery to all but JKR.

Well, we know that Dumbledore is truly dead, because Rowling has said so. Although I don't think we've heard the end of the character. I think his portrait will prove important. I don't know about Snapes involvement in any sort of plot like what you mentioned. I think we will learn more about that whole scenario with the book. However, I think Snape is the worst kind of bad guy. He is neither a true Death Eater or a Dumbledore supporter. He is the ultimate double agent and is out for himself. He has carefully placed himself so that he is on the winning side no matter what side that is.

I think that we will learn a ton about Harry's parents, and I'm guessing that he is the descendant of Godric Gryffindor. I think we will find that some of his friends are also direct descendants of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw (I think they are the Weasleys and Neville).

I also think that Neville will play a bigger role in the last book. He is getting stronger and with his strength is memory seems to be improving, I think. I honestly think that his grandmother put a memory charm on him so that he wouldn't remember his parents' demise that he witnessed. But somehow it backfired, just as Crouches spell did on that woman at the ministry. However, I think that given his parentage, he really has more inner strength and can potentially overcome this.

I do want to know the importance of the candy wrappers that he keeps. They may be nothing, but I find it kind of odd that his parents are still in St Mungos from being tortured by the cruciatous curse. I think there is more to learn there. Afterall, Harry has also endured that curse and he didn't lose his mind at all. Plus, why didn't the nurse notice such a dangerous plant that was brought to podmore, and why does Lucious donate so much money to the hospital. I think it has to do with the Longbottoms and keeping them there. I'm hoping this will all come out in the next book and that I'm not barking up the wrong tree.

I also can't help but see that fountain from the ministry in my mind's eye. Is it a bit of foreshadowing. Hermione is always pushing the interspecies cooperation. We know one house elf that would look adoringly up at Harry, and we know a centaur that would walk with him. We just don't know where this scene plays out.

As for deaths, we know that two people die. But it has been said that there are more deaths. So why tell us about the two people if they weren't close to Harry. I do think that at least one will be a Weasley, and I'm hoping it's not Ron or Ginny, but it would explain only one male figure at the fountain. I also wonder if Hagrid might be another. I think the character that got the repreive isn't one that was suppose to die in this book. I think it is Sirius. We never really see him die. Maybe there is a way to bring him back through the veil.

I think we might also learn more about what happened when the pair of wands met. Since Harry can't use his wand against Voldemort's, I wonder who will actually kill Voldemort.

I also think that the locket with the Horcrux is at the Black's place where Kreecher was hording it. I don't think there is a Horcrux at Godric's Hallow, but there will be much to learn there. I really think that Harry will go there during the summer and then return to Hogwarts for his final year. Given that there are seven books, I don't think Rowling would let him not go.

These are just some of my theories. I'm sure I've mentioned these and others in previous questions.

I think Dumbledore isn't really dead. Remember how, at the beginning of the book, he came to the Weasleys and warned them that the Deatheaters had learned to copy people, so start identifying each other with a password? That was never mentioned again. And remember how "Dumbledore" would never tell Harry what was wrong with his hand? I think the Deatheaters turned Wormtail into a Dumbledore lookalike--remember he had a silver hand, not flesh.

I also think Harry and Jenny will get back together--they had something too special to give up.

I'm not sure about Snape. Dumbledore believed in him, but I'm of the opinon that a leopard doesn't change his spots that much.

Finally, I don't think Harry will be the one who dies. The prophesy only said that one who was born on the last day of July will destroy Voldemort and in turn be destroyed. He wasn't the only one born on July 31--Neville was, too, and his powers are growing in the DA classes. Plus, he has even more reason to hate Voldemort than Harry--he has to see the suffering his parents have gone through because of Voldemort, and it's worse than if they were just killed outright.

dumbledore DEFINITELY did not create a horcurx, because of course he is definitely not capable of killing. and dumbledore will probably not come back to life, remember in HBP he showed up in the headmistress' office in the portrait, among the rest of the other former headmaster/mistresses. There he will be & stay.
Well i believe they will kill off another character, perhaps Ginny, or maybe Molly & Arthur.
After much consideration, ive come to the conclusion that snape ...excuse me "Professor" Snape is good (well former anyways). after reading a theory from the WiseGeek. Interesting and very believable.
Sirius is coming back, no one explained what was it was exactly he fell into. So I believe JKR left it open to bring him back for the big fight.

Well, so as not to give much away to those who haven't read the books, I think that Sirius will come back to life (we don't really know what the portal was in the 5th book), and I think that Snape is a good guy and will play a major role in helping Harry defeat the Dark Lord. Also, a friend of mine thinks that Dumbledore will come back (she believes that he too used a horcurx, just like Voldemort, but I don't know about that myself).

I am sooooooo excited the book is so close to coming out!
I think Servus is a good guy and is there to be as close to the dark lord as he can get all the information he can to help the good side.
I'm still curious about what happened to sirious. Doesn't sound right that he should be gone does it?
I am not sure on dumbldore. Do you think that the way in which he was killed was planned and there is a way to bypass it and comeback? Maybe it was a spell to make him appear dead and that he will come back some how.

I cant wait for it to come out! I have alot of theries but I think it will be comepltely different than anything we all think.

Harry will return to Privet Drive once again as Dumbledore had said and he then sets off to find all the horcruxes probably taking the help of Ron and Hermione.
Snape may turn out to be good and help Harry destroy Voldemort. Draco may also need to help Harry because he is in danger of getting killed too. Rowling also says that a non-magic person will perform magic. I think it is Dudley.

I assume that eventually Harry will have to battel the Dark lord. After many struggles and attempts Potter wins, brings peace to the magic world. Though, dies at the end, due to weakness. It seems pretty logical to me, since J>K>Rowling mentioned that there will be no continuation to the series.
