You almost gotta start with 4, 5 and 6 first or Vader's line "No, I am your Father" won't be a surprise like it was to all of us then. Those three give you the fever to find out more. And surprisingly after 30 years, there are a few people who have never seen it. I'd love to introduce it to someone, maybe my neices/nephews growing up now. What fun!

I'll tell you how I did with my own wife!!!

First she didn't like the look of the movie...(she thought the characters were ugly and stuped...
Then I showed her a few pictures of the new saga (the scenarious, the aliens, the ships and speacialy the battles).

After watching a few other sci-fi and fantasi movies It was finaly time to introduce her to the star wars universe!!!
So I decided to show her the Episode 4 (yes, a new hope), because, it starts in a very simple part of the saga and she wouldn't be frieghtened with the complexity. She didn't like the movie very much... but she loved the story... and after watching Empire (ep 5) she was crazy to watch the End of the story (uh uh !!!!).

Well, after the first trilogy, it was time to show her what lucas did with Anakins story and I explained that this new saga was Vader's story (she got very interested)...

After all, she loved the whole thing... And one afternoon, when I got home, hoping finaly to watch the EP 3 with her, she was already watching Ep 4 AGAIN!!!!!

I tell them to watch all the movies in the order they were released:4 5 6 and then 1 2 3.That's the best way to watch them

Show them 4, 5, and 6 first because its the way they were released. Then someone who has never seen them before will be able to follow the story.

Start with the first three because they really tell the story better. By the way, WHO THE HECK HASN'T SEEN STAR WARS?!!

well technically the newer 3 come first in the story line, so if you want the person to be able to follow the story line i'd suggest watching 1-3, the newer ones, first, then the ones from the 70's

I would show them the original three because those are the good ones.

let them expierence them like everyone else had to before phantom menace came out...start with originals...try for the ones that lucas didn't alter or add effects or scenes too...and then show them the first three...
