The rainbow : the light of the sun is decomposed by water remaining in atmosphere
the mirage in country with hot climate. As the refraction of air depends on the temperature of the different layers of air , you see an image of very far landscape due to total refraction on layers with different temperatures

in a glass filled with any kind of liquid the spoon or straw appears bent due to refraction...mirages are due to both refraction and total internal reflection....the rainbow is produced due to diffraction.....the sun apears to be in a certain position at the time of sunset which is not its actual position due to refraction of light rays
