Ok, so I'm separated from my husband for about 4 months now. It really doesn't look like we're gonna reconcile at this point. We split because he was no longer sure what he wanted. and he was unwilling to even work on our relationship. While we were packing our respective stuff, I came across his wedding band, and so now I have both.
I want to go sky-diving as part of my healing from this. I think it'll be cathartic - and part of me wants to sell our wedding bands to finance it. Is that too cold or hasty?

*FYI - it's not that I can't afford to go Sky-Diving without selling the rings - if I do it, it'll be more for the symbolism, and to give myself something to smile about.
I wanted it to work out, and am still willing to try - but since HE doesn't want to work on anything ... I want to cleanse, and heal ... move on. ya know?

I would say no, it is not cold OR hasty.
Anything that helps you heal is a positive thing.
And really, if you DO get back together with him, do you want to just pop on those same old rings that can only signify the bad times before you separated?

It's not a matter of being cold or hasty, just silly. If you haven't the money to go sky diving, find something you can afford to do to work out your healing issues.

Go for it, wedding bands are pretty meaningless once the marriage is over, yes it probaly would help you move on getting rid of them and doing something you want.

You shouldn't sell your wedding bands as it holds significant memories. Every thing has its own special meaning that indicates an event whether its good or bad so keep it.

"old" gold doesn't bring in much money...
I doubt very highly that the two bands are going to come anywhere near financing sky diving unless you have a big rock in yours.

I "really doesn't look like" you're going to make it? Are you kidding? So pretty much at this point YOU have given up on the marriage. If you sell those rings, you have sealed your marriage's fate.
Go ahead and file the divorce.....THEN sell the rings.

Sell them and take pics of that trip. It'll prove you got your money's worth.
