The last rivet is the golden rivet and it depends on who's turn it is in the barrel as to where it goes.

Apart from david T who had a very good answer, if you can find any rivets on a modern ship / boat you would be doing very well.

Most are completely welded these days.

It usually falls into some cavity where it becomes irretrievable and then you find it was the last one you had!
