our regular picker upper guy is on vacation i guess and its not been picked up this week, usually on mondays, and i've hadda pick it up now both mornings, and have called twice now

Yes! Been there done that! Pour a bit of ammonia over the top of a filled can. Animals hate the smell and it chases them away from it. Works great!

Putting your trash in plastic bag and spraying the inside and outside with a pinesol cleaner or windex (some strong smelling cleaner) will keep the crtitters from wanting ot get into the trash. We had problems with dogs and cats before and now they know better. They just dont like the taste or smell of it.

Crap I hate when that happens, had this happen a lot. Eventually went and got can that has a lid that locks down, that seemed to help. I even went and bought a cage trap. I've caught raccoons, cats mostly in it.

tie the lids shut with bunge cords.
