But when it was first discovered, it was hailed as Agamemnon's mask, so they still refer to it like that. The problem is, most artifacts don't have a written history attached to them, so we don't know exactly where they came from. We can only make educated guesses, based on where it was found and any dates we can assign to it, based on its design and what other artifacts accompanied it.
