If tommorow by some act of divine intervention all people in the US had to start all the way over from scratch( absolutely nothing), each person over the age of 18 with the exact same amount of money and education, how long do you think it would take society to reach the state it is currently in?

*everyone is a blank canvas (18 and over are educationally and financially equal), world history up until yesterday is still exactly the same, but no one has any memory of their personal history. everyone has the same amount of education, i.e all 18yr olds have highschool diploma, all 20 yr olds have associate degrees all 30yr olds have Masters degrees. so on and so forth you get what I mean. Every one is given the same amount of property & $100,000.
*everything is gone( as far as buildings and such, the divine entity is like a store everything you need, you have to get from her and she does not benefit from these sales so prices are moderate)

I am aware that this is basicaly the structure of communism. I am also aware that it hasn't worked. My question is how long would it take for society to revert back if suddenly change?

One dude, dude of doah or whatever his name is, said it will never happen. And THAT is exactly what we thought before 9/11, isn't it? Oh, terrorists would never fly a jumbo jet, full of fuel with 400 passengers, into a skyscraper. That'll NEVER happen. And oh look, it did. THAT dude is ignorant, and why everyone in this country takes what they have for granted.

So, for a real hypothetical answer to your hypothetical qeustion, I say all of the "have's" in this country would either kill themselves, or would kill each other because they don't know how to go without. All of the "have not's" in this country would probably end up on top, because it's not like they don't know how to survive with nothing. People, in general, are survivors and when faced with a choice of whether to survive or die, most would make the best out of what they have and live whatever life they can. In the end, I don't believe things would return to our current state, with everyone on a level playing field things would be MUCH different and will remain different. People like that doah dude know this, that is why they are so quick to dismiss the notion. If not by terrorism, or war than we will certainly meet our end at the hand of God, if you believe in such things. We'll be content in our belief that we are untouchable until a meteor the size of Texas slams into the Earth and destroys all life. It's happened before and the law of averages says it will again.

This is an interesting question and don't let the haters get to you.

Money and education - school-type - is irrelevent....it is a matter of people working together to build what they consider a civilization, combining property, merging and perfecting ideas....which will evolve from a "block" to larger structures. Unfortunately, there will be resource wars and the like and hatred. And there will be a population crash due to a variety of circumstances.

It has taken roughly 2007 years or so to be at this point and I don't see how this area would become what it is now in a shorter time frame.

After the numerous wars that would ensue, there would be a power structure similar to what we have today. As far as this being communism, I don't think so. Communism is an economic condition dependent upon the development of capitalism and socialism to support it. Communism has never been realized. The feeble attempts at it have all been fatally flawed because they tried to bypass the capitalist and socialist phases of economic development. Marx was quite clear on this point.

New leaders, new individuals, different key resources (not insufficient timber gold and oil reserves etc) different but faster course due to the higher education.
