All his cloths and things are at his house but he can't go near. We know most of her alligations she made against him are not totally true and she has wanted him out of the house for a few years now. For finanacial reasons the house and other things are in her name and he is now staying with us, miles from home. How does he go about getting his things from the house and he is having to comute from Manchester to London several times a week due to commitments he has. Where does he stand in all this, what are his rights. ( the alligations were assault-she called the police and he lost it with them, he is going through a very bad court case over something else and we think maybe the stress has got to him, but i really don't know?)????

He can call the police and notify them that his stuff is over there and that he does have a restraining order. They should be there to escort him in getting his things.

The police are called and he loses it on the police? Even in America, people can stay calm when the police come unless they are so full of rage over someone able to control the situation that they want to control. Sounds like they got this right. As far as rights, that's something he'll have to take up with his attorney. You know the one he already has from his other thing? From what you wrote, not many are going to be empathetic towards him, sounds like this is all brought on by himself.

Although some women file false Restraining Orders, most do not. There is usually some hidden abuse happening that friends never see.

To get his things, he will need to have you, or another friend go and pick them up. He cannot do it because of the Order.

His lawyer can tell him what rights he has to the house and finances.

Domestic violence is a tricky area. Losing his temper with the police does not help his case as it will make the police believe that he really has a temper. Once someone is seen as the perpetrator, he/she is left to prove that they did not assault the victim and this is very difficult. The house is in her name? It's not looking very good for your friend.

He needs a good solicitor asap. He should get one based on recommendation.

No one REALLY knows what goes on behind closed doors.
He can make an appointment to collect his items and have a police officer accompany them

Your friend is a loser. YOU get what your friend needs from his house and give it to him. I am sure his ex will cooperate as she wants him gone. Do it quick before she throws everything in the trash.

His ex couldn't get rid of him, I hope you have better luck. He sounds like a mooch.
