"Psychology has a long past, but only a short story." here is a qoute and im supposed to write a 250 word explaning the meaning of the quote but i dont understand what the quote means so if anyone can please help me please i would apperciate it so much please.

well psychology's past started before psychology the science did. psychology started with the philosophers aristotle, descartes, and few more philosophers who discussed the mind and peoples actions. from there william wundt commenced the study of behaviour in a laboratory in lepzig, from there psychology began developing and manifested into what we now know.
i think thats a pretty good head start.

It essentially means that humans have been studying the mind ever since they realized the mind existed (thousands of years ago), but psychology as a science (studied in an organized way) has only existed a short time (little over 100 years).

i would think it means that the mind and human behavior has been studied by and fascinated people for thousands of years. but we still know very little, relatively speaking
