A blue star has appeared in my system tray and it tell's me that i'm a victim of software counterfiet.

2. Download advanced Windows care Personal Free One click program .http://www.iobit.com
After running all the programs GO THROUGH THE
start up program list and uncheck the new program or delete it.
What is the program's name ?
3. Press CTRL/ALT/DEL and open Task Manager.
Click applications.
Do you find any unusual program you have not downloaded ?
Note and delete with program in 2.

Is Microsoft telling you that you have an illegal copy?

You may be able to stop the process running in your System Tray by using Task Manager. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click on the Processes tab. Look for a process that looks like 'notify' e.g. stnotify.exe and do a Google search for it to confirm if this is the right process. Once you have found the right process then you can stop it.

Unfortunately this is only a temporary measure as Windows will probably load this warning each time you boot the system. You'll have to find out more about how disable it permanently by doing a google search.

This is what happens when you use a pirated copy of windows..also you will not be able to receive any security updates that windows provides therefore you are leaving your system open to attack from any loopholes in your Windows system and no matter how good anti-virus software you may have installed your computer is vunerable...as the first answer said the only option you have is to buy a legal copy of Windows
