I think hippos are the biggest, but I need a definitive top 10 and can't find one anywhere on the Internet.

There really is not such a list considering most animals do not eat humans. On the top of the list though would probably be various species of crocodiles. But like I said the problem is there are very few animals that eat humans. Even if you were to include ALL shark species under one section, in 2006 only 4 people were killed by sharks. Too boot those humans were not even really eaten, they just died from blood loss.

There is a list of top 10 Deadliest Animals on the internet but the list is extremely incorrect. It includes animals that should not be on the list such as white sharks and leaves animals off that should be like river hippos.

Speaking of hippos they would be on a Top Ten of Most Dangerous/Deadly but they would not be number one. They however would not be on your list because they do not actually eat humans, they just kill them.

To the person who posted above me.... the Mosquito really is not what causes the death in humans, it is the parasite that the Mosquito carries that causes the problem.

You won't find a definitive list anywhere on the internet because there isn't one. It's not the kind of thing that can be definitively known. The reason being is that it's nigh impossible to collate global figures for the number of people killed and eaten by animals. The best you can do is estimate.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the Hippopotamus would not be top of the list. It wouldn't even be on the list. Hippos are vegetarian. Their diet largely consists of grass and other plant life found at the water's edge. Whilst their razor sharp teeth could easily slice a human limb clean off, and they are known to attack humans, they are not man 'eaters' in the same way that tigers are.

If you wanted a list of creatures responsible for human fatalities, then the Hippopotamus would probably be in the top 10. It is estimated that they kill between 100 and 150 per year. However, top of that list would be the mosquito which is responsible for nearly 3 million deaths every year.

I'm not sure. But I do know that while hippos do kill many people they don't actually EAT them. So technically they aren't man- eaters.
