The single (cash) fare on the London Underground is now £4 within the Greater London area, regardless of the combination of departure and destination stations, so, for short journeys like Oxford Circus to Victoria, this means comparatively poor value for money.

If you have a pay-as-you-go Oyster card, it's just £1.50.

4 pounds, yes I know this is awful, I'm a victim too, but you have to buy the oyster card... however be careful of the zones you are alowed into otherwise, this is another 4 pounds... :(
