when i was pregnant i didn't test positive for over a week after i missed my period. I have heard of a few women complain of that. I would wait a day or two and test again but its rare for that to be the case, possible but rare. There are so many other things that can cause you to have a late period though, stress, diet, medication... its a good idea to see the doctor if you are concerned but sadly, all you can do is wait for it.
First response is the best and soonest.. stay away from the digital, you need a lot of hormone in your urine with those. Even though the tests now don't need morning urine, if you are pregnant and just have a low hormone level in your urine, Morning urine will be your best bet to find it. Good luck

My wife took until 5 or 6 days after her period was due to show a positive test, and this was with a test that can supposedly show results upto 5 days before your period. 3 days after her period was due she showed the faintest line ever. Almost invisible, but 3 days later it was a little stronger and a couple days after that it was a proper line.
Hopefully you are pregnant and are just producing low levels of the pregnancy hormone. It may be that in a few days time your test will show positive. Either that or your period will start.

Periods sometime do come later. unless you have birth control that is regualting it. If you think that you may of had a scare and you not on birth control then you may want to talk to the doctor about birth control to help the risk of concieving a child. You should just talk to the doctor and make sure they check for PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). This can cause a delay in a period.

If your period continues to be late, the assumption for all sexually active women, of child bearing age, is that you are assumed pregnant until proven otherwise. However simple issues like stress and this would include the desire to get pregnant, can delay a period for a considerable time.

Sometimes stress can cause our periods to be late. I know I had gone thru this a few times when I was first coming in to having periods.

well, those pregnancy tests are usually pretty accurate. If it would make you feel better between now and Friday, buy another test and make sure that you use it first thing in the morning. I do believe that the First Response tests are considered the best.
Good luck...
