Well, the Bush administration said Saddam had huge stockpiles of nerve gas, if not atom bombs, all set to go on an hours notice, and they spent a half a trillion bucks and four years on the basis of that.
Now some people say they were lying. The defense says no, they just didn't know what they were talking about.
I don't think it matters, they've proven they're not fit to lead a boy scout troop either way.
And no it doesn't mean a dam thing that they got a bunch of democrat congresspeople to give them their ok on it.
Bush got their ok on a war that was going to last "six months, tops", that was going to cost sixty billion at the most.
Nobody okayed him to p*ss away half a trillion dollars, four years and thousands upon thousands of lives.
Especially long after he'd already found out his original assumptions were entirely BS. If he didn't know that in the first place.
And I wouldn't give you five cents for any stupid fool that screws up like this, just because he "did his best with what he's got"

You should ask if any politician always speaks the truth and the answer would be no because they all lie that includes Bush.

None of the above. No one ALWAYS speaks the truth. Truth tends to be filtered through our own bias.

"we don't torture"
"mission accomplished"
And all those things he said that were clearly lies that he then tried to case as truth for example saying that we had to attack iraq to remove terrorist like al-quida. Listen to the speech and it is clear from context he mean "like" to stand in for "for example" then monthes later when he admitted that Iraq and nothing to do with 911 and that al-quida wasn't there he said he meant "like" as in "similar to."
If he has ever spoken truth it was an accident.

I havent found a time when he HAS spoken the truth so I haven nothing to compare it to... here are some of the most outrageous lies he's told, which were answers to another question about BUsh's so-called honesty.
1. "I served in the Military"- No he didn't, Bush never served in a foreign theater or in combat, but he says he did- he never completed his Texas ANG obligation, the same obligation which conveniently kept him out of Vietnam. Since he went AWOL in a Time of War, he is considered a DESERTER.
2. "God talks to me"- Maybe, but anyone else who said this would be on meds for schizophrenia, anyone but the President.
3. "I believe in Business, in the market to decide who gets hired and who doesn't"- Another lie, or Halliburton would not have been given a no bid contract worth billions.
4."I support our Troops"- No he doesn't. He sent our soldiers to Iraq with inadequate body armor, and feeds them rancid expired food at a cost to US taxpayers of $100 per day, per soldier. In 6 years, he has also been instrumental in cutting soldier's pay and benefits to the point where a PFC with a spouse and two kids has to apply for Food Stamps to make ends meet.
5. "The People of Iraq WANT us there"- Another lie if you listen to polls, over 80% of Iraqis want us out of their country. Another lie Bush told "If Iraq wanted us gone, we'd be gone" Not true or else our troops would be coming home right now.
6. "This is not about oil". Of course it is. There WERE no terrorists in Iraq until we invaded. Hussein hated bin Laden and vice versa and would not allow Al-Qaeda to operate in Iraq. So we deposed the ONE Middle East Leader who was on our side in the War against bin Laden.
7. "I Will Smoke Him Outa his Caves"- He meant bin Laden but then a mere 5 months after the attacks, he tells the press he doesnt know where bin Laden is and doesnt spend much time thinking about him. Over 5 years later, bin Laden is still not in US custody.
8. "Im a War President"- No he's not, not any more than he is the "Successful Businessman" President. He bankrupted every company he ever ran, and as a "war President" he has accomplished NONE of his stated goals of "bringing Peace to the Middle East", "Bringing freedom to the people of Iraq" who neither asked for it nor wanted it, "Promoting Democracy", sounds good, but martial law and curfews are not 'democracy"- well actually they are BUSH'S version of democracy, not anyone elses.
9. "I have no criminal record" Not true, he was arrested for drunk driving and stealing as a youth. We all know he was a drunk and a cokehead, but supposedly became "Born Again" and doesn't drink anymore, which is ridiculous, as Youtube has a press conference of Bush clearly slurring his words and almost drooling on the podium; of course the man still drinks.
10. "Mission Accomplished"- Really Mr President? Then why are our troops still dying in Iraq?
11. "The Taliban is defeated in Afghanistan"- Not true, after 5 years they still retain control over vast portions of the country.
12. "We Fight Them THERE so We Wont Have to Fight Them HERE"- As the JFK refueling plot reveals, we STILL have to fight them HERE, HERE is what they want to blow up. I say lets FIGHT EM here. Its called having the Home field advantage. and instead of sending our troops all over the world, we bring them home and secure the airports, seaports and borders, as Bush SAID he was going to do after Sept 11. Then the few who can actually get thru to the US will not be much of a challenge will they? Kinda hard to smiggle an explosive laden vehicle thru Customs isnt it?
