For alternative medicine consult that area of *answers*. Consult your OB/GYN for a medication that has a low dose of hormone(s) in it - HRT. Alternative medicines are great, but if you choose to go that route, and also are under the care of your physician let him/her know that you are also using this type of treatment. Good Luck!

You can also try taking B6, either in a bottle by itself or as part of B Complex. You can find it in many stores such as Wal-Mart and also at The Vitamin Shoppe if there is a store locally. If not you can also order at their site.

Check with your OB/GYN or primary care physician to see what they think about you trying the B6.

I have been taking B Complex for about 2 years as far as on a regular basis and I have found it to be very helpful.

If you're really in menopause, I hear black cohosh is the very best treatment. If it's menstrually related, I believe blue cohosh is better.

One thing... you might get a blood panel done for mineral deficiency like zinc or potassium... and at least be taking a multivitamin.

Also, as tough as it is to do, don't indulge in chocolate, alcohol or salty foods as these can trigger greater emotional & physical reactions. It's said that many cravings, like for chocolate, are caused by a need for magnesium.

Hope it helps...

Make an appointment with your OB/GYN. They can put you on medication for both!
