Our systems guy has resigned. I need to insure that he leaves all information back related to the company. Since we are yet to have our policies in place, what precautions shall I take to take a proper handover from him.
- Passwords, Usernames. Admin/others NT
- Broadband router username/passwords
- VPN username/passwords

Do I need to scan all files if he has removes/protected ?

Thanks

You need to get him to spend his last days with you documenting the whole system. This will include passwords for everything, usenames for everything, names and contact details for all his suppliers. Depending how big your system is you may need diagramatic support so wiring problems can be traced in the future.

Most of all don't p*** him off!

Ask him to document everything and stay on until you hire a new Admin.

Back up everything, ASAP. Then, have the new Admin change all Passwords, etc.

Cross your fingers.
