if I call 911 just for fun?

if I go to a payphone at the mall and call 911, and make some ambulance come, and then walk away. they cant trace it to me cuz I use payphone..

or maybe I could order 20 pizzas to an address across the street, using another payphone

like.. how would these people deal with it? they certainly could not find out where I live or anything..

cctv? okay, I'll wear a hoody shirt, and pull the hood over my head. problem solved. how would you trace me now, ******* police? fingerprints? I'll wear gloves. I win again

I wouldn't be so hasty to think that you couldn't be caught with the 911 calls. There are always cameras & witnesses that may recognize you & give a description of what you look like. Even if they don't, just remember that when they come to your false 911 call, there is someone else that is waiting with a genuine medical emergency- maybe even someone you know. Remember that when you call for an ambulance & it takes 30 minutes to get there. 911 calls are all recorded (for legal reasons), so they'll have your voice on record. They also have tracers on the phonelines (in case the caller passes out & they can't get the addy), so don't be surprised if they send a cop car out while you are in mid prank call. Just call the hospitals or clinics if you want to make a prank call to a medical facility.

As far as the pizza place goes, it's not nice, but it's not as bad as calling the ambulance. They'd probably just take them back to the store & either sell them at the store or chuck them.

Considering the danger you would put anybody who really needs service and the other motorists and the EMT's you really don't want to do that. Also with the level of camera surveillance out there now a mall would more than likely have you on video. Find some other fun. Like asking dumb questions on Y/A.

You know what would be great? if you do as you plan, and at the same time somebody you know, a close family member needs an ambulance or fire service real quick. . . . . . . and sadly they dont get help in time and d. . . .

if u go to payphone they can trace it to that payphone and find the nearest CCTV camera , and at the time of the call who ever was on that phone wud be the culprit , so yeah u cud get in trouble

Maybe you'll get really lucky and cause them to miss a call from a bonafide emergency. Maybe people will die because of your stupid pranks. Will that make you feel like a piece of trash or what?

Maybe when you are trapped in a burning car and 911 is busy because some prankster is calling them, just maybe you will get it then....

I once called 911 to tell them my friend stole my truck key cause I was drunk and wanted to leave. It didn't go over too well, the po-po's were there in like 10 minutes. I got a lecture and was told to go back inside and keep partyin. I just love livin in a small town where you know everyone! I probably should have been arrested many many times, but I haven't :)

Gee, why don't you try it out? Then post the results here on Answers to prove that bending the law is possible. Else, we'll just assume there's no internet access in the dungeon they thrust you into.

Please don't call 911 on a fake emergency because there are people with genuine emergencies going on.
Remember, it's not about the police. You're not hurting them, but you're hurting someone who is in danger- heart attack, stroke, domestic assault, break-in, etc.
