The best solution is to wear a tampon. Buy a small tampon and use some form of lubricant to insert the tampon. You are not ever suppose to feel a tampon when it is inserted. You can also buy a tampon that comes with an applicator.

Otherwise I would suggest you just run from the bathroom to the swimming pool and back to the bathroom after swimming!

If Tampons feel uncomfortable, maybe you have not inserted them correctly. If inserted right, you should have little awareness of them.

There is a band of muscle at the vaginal entrance and this will actually hold the tampon in place. However, you need to get passed this to ensure comfort.

The applicator type are the best, Tampax do a mini size, these are ideal for young or old alike if you are light. Read the instructions carefully.

Stand with one leg up on the bathtub and insert the tube until your thumb touches your body, then press the plunger, and this will insert the tampon deeper. If you are not used to feeling a tampon go so deep, it may surprise you, but shouldn't hurt as such. The strings are long and will stay outside your body ready for removal.

Do remember to remove a tampon after 4 hours or so and use a pad at night.

Other than tampons, I am afraid you will have to postpone your swimming!

Good Luck

It could be that the discomfort is because you aren't inserting it right. The only thing you can do now because the tampons are uncomfortable is to wait til after your period to go in the water. In the mean time you can sit at the edge of the pool and put your feet in the water to feel the coolness of the water.

I would also recommend talking to your mom about this to get additional information.

There's really not much else you can do except don't go swimming. A tampon shouldn't be uncomfortable. In fact, you shouldn't feel it at all if it's inserted correctly.

the purpose of tampons is to provide women with unlimited daily activities while on their period. when they are put in the right way they cannot even be felt. trust me pads are a BAD idea in the water. I would research on proper tampon insertion and practice a few times. once you start doing it correctly, you'll never want to wear a pad again!

Why do they feel uncomfortable. Maybe you are not inserting them far enough. If they are not in deep enough they can be uncomfortable, but otherwise you should not feel it.

i think being uncomfortable for a few hours beats the embarrassment of having blood everywhere!

wash your self ..um 'down there' really well. the flow of blood is curtailed for a short period when you hold water directly on your vagina. and that will keep you dry underwater. the fact that you are under water itself will curtail the flow of blood further... hope this works its worked for me.....
