Not so long as the NFL and CFL have a developmental agreement, since losing Toronto will be the final death knell of the CFL. It's a good training ground for WR, OL, CB projects while keeping salaries low and not impacting the active NFL roster.

Toronto would be a decent but not compelling market for the NFL, who certainly have to get into Los Angeles LONG before they look elsewhere.

Not likely, but does Toronto WANT an NFL Franchise. See that to me is the biggest problem to it. They have the CFL up there and I don't think they really want an NFL team. If they wanted it and petitioned the league whenever talk of expansion comes up I think they could probably win one. After all they probably already have the stadium for the CFL team, not sure how big it is as far as stands but I'm guessing it's big enough.

Toronto is probably the only city in Canada that is big enough to support an NFL team. I dont think it will even happen though because they have CFL team. The league and team would fight it.

Chronic - No way the Lions let a team play in Windsor which is only a few minutes from Ford Field.

I definately think that the NFL could play in Toronto. That is why they are currently experimenting playing regular season games outside this U.S. Get the response of the rest of the planet and see how it plays out. From a logistical standpoint world expansion would have to start in either Mexico or Canada. I dont know if the Rogers Centre (or how ever it is spelled) would be an "NFL Suitable" place but the city in general would be a near perfect fit to start branching out.

I seriously doubt it.

The Argos and the CFL would fight it.

The NFL would not want to initiate any legal competition against the CFL out of respect for the Canadian style of play.

It is very unlikely to happen, but there is a better chance of the two leagues merging before the NFL places a team in Toronto.

Maybe if the CFL fell through but not any other way because Canada has the CFL and the Toronto Argonauts(the only reason i know this is because its the team Ricky Williams played for) Its not like not like the MLB, NBA, and NHL were Canada doesn't have their own league.

I think it would be difficult for Hawaii to get an NFL team due to the fact that traveling to and from the mainland would be difficult. Canada is a much more likely scenario, considering it is connected to the mainland U.S. Possibly a location close to the border such as Montreal or Toronto. Personally I like the Montreal Midgets, but I'm sure they would pick a more intimidating team name.

mel s, the N in NBA and NHL also stands for National, but there are both NBA and NHL teams in Canada.

It's certainly possible that the NFL could expand into Canada. If Willis McGahee had his way, the Bills would've moved to Toronto. Thankfully, Marv Levy sent him packing.

There probably will somewhere in canada someday. Just because its the NFL doesnt mean it's restricted to America. The NHL has canadian teams and so does the NBA. both of those have "National" in their name, yet they are comprised of both American and Canadian teams. I think there is a good chance of one being in Toronto and maybe Ottowa or Vancouver.

I could see it. Toronto's the biggest market in Canada; they could support a team, their population is larger than many cities who already have a team I think its more logical to put a team there than say L.A. or Vegas. I don't know how long that would be but it could happen
